Fair Use Policy
Last updated:
This policy covers MindsHub’s free tier: the MindsHub Air model, which anyone with a MindsHub account can use at no charge. “We” and “MindsDB” mean MindsDB, Inc., the company behind MindsHub; “you” means the holder of a MindsHub account. The Terms of Service still apply.
What the free tier includes
The MindsHub Air model at no charge, with no card:
- in MindsHub Cowork and Code, MindsHub’s own agents;
- through MindsHub Inference, the Unified Inference API at api.mindshub.ai, as the alias
mindshub_air, from OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code, Codex or any other agent that can call the API, or from your own code.
Air is an alias. MindsDB keeps it pointed at a balanced model, so the model behind it can change without a code change on your side. Air has no web search and no reasoning-effort control. The rest of the catalog is paid for with credits at the rates on the pricing page.
What fair use is
The free tier exists to help people use agents. Fair use is a person using agents: typing into Cowork or Code, or running an agent that calls the API on their behalf.
What fair use is not
Extensive automated machine use of the API is not what the free tier is for. That includes:
- bulk pipelines;
- scripted volume traffic;
- scraping;
- reselling access;
- opening many accounts to multiply the limits.
If your work needs that kind of volume, add credits and pay the published per-model rates on the pricing page.
How we protect it
MindsDB protects the free tier with daily rate limits and other measures. The limits are not published as numbers. MindsDB decides what counts as abuse and can suspend an account that abuses the free tier.
If we get it wrong
The system will not always get it right, and a fair user may hit a limit or a suspension by mistake. If that happens to you, tell us through the contact page. Include the email address on your account, what you were doing, and when it happened.
Changes to this policy
MindsDB may update this policy. The last-updated date at the top of this page changes when we do.
